Stages and passing

The course has eight stages. Each one adds keys to the ones before it.

  1. Home row: A S D F and J K L ;
  2. G and H: your index fingers reach sideways and come back
  3. Top row: Q to P
  4. Bottom row: Z to M, comma and period
  5. All letters: common words with every letter
  6. Capitals: Shift with the other hand's pinky, plus the apostrophe (') and question mark (?)
  7. Numbers: two rows up, then straight back
  8. Symbols: brackets, math signs and the other symbols on the number row and right edge

Passing a stage

Finish one line at 95% accuracy or better in Line by line to pass a stage. A passed stage shows a check mark. Speed isn't required: be right first, and speed follows from keys you no longer have to think about.

You can start any stage at any time by clicking it.

Weak keys

After a few rounds, once you have pressed a key about 10 times, the trainer knows which keys you miss or reach slowest. Click Weak keys to practice a round built from them.

Your progress

The Progress page shows your totals and fastest rounds, your speed round by round, the keys you miss or reach slowest, and your recent rounds. Fastest counts only rounds at 95% accuracy or better. Your progress stays in this browser, with no account; to move it, use Download backup there and Restore a backup in the other browser.
